Sven Longshanks and Max Musson look at the archetypal Briton Captain Bligh, of 'Mutiny on the Bounty' fame.
Captain Bligh learned navigation under Captain Cook and he showed amazing ingenuity in getting his men 4,000 miles to safety, after his crew mutinied and cast them adrift to drown in a small boat with little to no supplies.
The mutineers themselves interbred with Tahitians and created one of the world’s tiniest mixed-race nations, who eventually turned out to be both feminists and child molesters.
Captain Bligh is the archetypal courageous, loyal and duty-bound British officer, while the mutineers showed themselves to lack self discipline and honour, many going on to die fighting among themselves.
