Real Britannia: George ‘Geordie’ Stephenson – RB 120720

Sven Longshanks and Max Musson discuss the week’s news and start a Greatest Britons presentation on George Stephenson, the father of railways.

The Brexit deadline is upon us and the chances are high we could be leaving with no deal, which would mean the whole of the last four years have just been a distraction.

The killer of Emily Jones had the charges commuted to manslaughter and an enquiry has found that nobody could have known the fake refugee could might have been a killer.

The media have been presenting the public as being concerned about whether the new vaccines work, rather than being concerned about what the side effects are.

George Stephenson could not afford to go to school but still managed to become a first rate engineer, pioneering the use of rail for passengers as well as freight.

He was also the first to create a Miner’s safety lamp, which his kinsmen the Geordies have been named after ever since.
