Dr Matthew Raphael Johnson looks at the metaphysical origins of culture as explained by Alexander Dugin.
Culture is a manifestation of something greater than itself. Nous manifests itself in three different Forms, or archetypes, each containing a dominant tendency or element.
Nous cannot manifest itself without passing through these and presenting them as social practice. In each culture, the three elements are mixed differently, and this mixture differentiates one from another and can be expressed in mythical forms over time.
These are the “background” or even “mythical” foundations for both reason and action, and all three are at war with each other.
Alexander Dugin's work Introduction to Noomakhia deals with these three manifestations and describes them in detail.
