Modern Liberal Democracy has always been a cover for plutocratic rule. In modern Greece, this fact was clearly shown twice in the 20th century, the first time in the 1930s, and the second, from 1968-1974. In both cases, the oligarchs, caring only about their own financial good, reduced Greece to poverty and intense alienation. Violence, strikes and western-backed Marxist violence threatened to liquidate the country, and foreign intrigue was everywhere. In both cases, the Left was financed by Great Britain and used to collect heavy debt. The military in both cases seized power and and set the ship of state aright, to the endless condemnation of both Moscow and Washington. However, also in both cases, these governments were successes. The parallels are so numerous that they cannot be a coincidences.
