Grandpa Dan discusses the role of elders in a society. While intergenerational strife is common today, that is not the way things are supposed to be. Younger generations lack life experience and one of the valuable resources they should have is the availability of the knowledge of their elders. Yet what happens when the elders are absent? If the older generations condemn the younger for being “lazy, worthless” or whatever, they in effect condemn themselves for failing to provide them the guidance that they need.
In the Christian specific segment this week, GPD discusses the question as to what it means to receive the Holy Spirit. In the book of Acts, we read about the day of Pentecost. However does this mean that we should be speaking in tongues? If we’re not able to do the things the apostles were doing, does this mean that we don’t have the Holy Spirit?
