Just as there is no shortage of conflicts in the world, there is also no shortage of shills, propagandists and the just plain ignorant claiming that one side or another is winning or losing. Grandpa Dan discusses how winning a conflict has nothing to do with how many buildings you blow up or even how many people are killed. Carl von Clausewitz accurately described war as “the continuation of policy with other means”. In order to understand which side is winning or losing, it is necessary to step back and look at what their actual political goals are and whether or not what they are doing is bringing them closer to successfully achieving those goals.
